Brighton’s vibrant culinary scene is buzzing with excitement as the beloved Curry Leaf Cafe celebrates a decade of serving delectable South Indian street food in The Lanes. Nestled on Ship Street, this independent gem has become a local favourite, and to mark this milestone, they’re launching an innovative new menu under the brand Bombay Burger Club.
Initially a hit on Deliveroo, the Bombay Burger Club’s unique offerings are now available directly at the restaurant. Imagine sinking your teeth into brioche buns brimming with Keralan fried chicken, fiery chilli paneer cheese, spiced lamb patties, and tandoor-grilled meats. Each burger is a delightful fusion of flavours, topped with fresh salad, crispy brown onions, sev noodles, and a variety of tantalising chutneys.
But the culinary adventure doesn’t stop there. The new menu also features Bombay loaded fries with curry sauce for dipping, naan dippers, and an Indian-spiced twist on kimchi. It’s a feast that promises to tickle your taste buds and leave you craving more.
Euan Sey, co-founder of Curry Leaf Cafe, shared his enthusiasm: “While we’ve enjoyed playing around with the format of the dishes at Curry Leaf Cafe, the flavours have always been quite traditional and authentic. With Bombay Burger Club, we’re free to do pretty much anything we like – which is a fun tenth birthday present to ourselves.”
The feedback from diners has been overwhelmingly positive, inspiring the team to expand the menu and create a completely new takeaway sub-brand. Almost half of the burgers are vegan, ensuring there’s something for everyone. Plus, by dining here, you’re supporting an independent Brighton restaurant and its local suppliers, nearly all of whom are based in Sussex.
So, head down to Curry Leaf Cafe and join the celebration. Indulge in the Bombay Burger Club’s mouth-watering creations and be part of Brighton’s thriving food community. Cheers to ten more years of culinary delights!
