From a life of adversity to a beacon of inspiration, Jason Frost’s story is nothing short of remarkable. Once a prisoner, now a successful gym owner, Jason is set to open his third gym in Brighton, aiming to inspire others with his transformative journey.
Fourteen years ago, Jason was released from prison, homeless and struggling to find steady employment. Fast forward to today, he’s on the brink of opening his third gym in as many years, proving that it’s never too late to turn your life around.
“I want to inspire people with the journey I have been on. I was very lost in life but I found my feet in personal training,” says Jason, who served three years for grievous bodily harm. After his release, he found himself sleeping in his car, unable to secure stable employment due to his criminal past.
A fresh start in Dubai led to a headhunting opportunity back in the UK, but once again, his past came back to haunt him. Undeterred, Jason used his fitness qualifications, earned while in prison, to set up Brighton Bodycoach. The business thrived, even amid the pandemic, leading to the opening of his first Fit Box site in Church Road, Hove, in 2021.
Now, Jason is excitedly preparing for the opening of his third Fit Box site in Upper Gardner Street. But his mission doesn’t stop at running successful gyms. Jason uses his platform to speak in prisons, hoping to inspire inmates to reform and build a better life upon their release.
“There’s no lower place than being locked in a cage. I tell people my story and a lot of people have contacted me when they get out of prison and tell me they want to make the same changes,” he shares.
Jason’s third gym, Fit Box in Upper Gardner Street, Brighton, opens on April 22. It stands as a testament to his resilience and determination, a beacon of hope for those who dare to dream of a second chance.
