In a celebration of movement and creativity, thousands of young dancers are set to light up the stage in one of the country’s largest dance events. ‘Let’s Dance at the Dome’, a week-long festival in Brighton, offers children from schools across the city a platform to showcase their choreography and passion for dance.
An impressive 2,000 children, ranging from five to 18 years old, from 70 schools across Brighton, will participate in this vibrant event. The festival, which has been a staple in the city’s cultural calendar for the last 19 years, is organised by Katie Booth and her team at Dorothy Stringer school.
Katie Booth, reflecting on the significance of the event, said, “It is such a wonderful event to be part of and every year I am blown away by the commitment and enthusiasm that the young people in our city bring to the stage.” She emphasised that the festival is not just for experienced dancers or a competition, but an opportunity for young people to participate and create lifelong memories in one of Brighton’s most iconic venues.
The event is more than just a dance festival. According to the organisers, it aims to promote healthy and active lifestyles among the city’s youth. It also underscores the importance of dance and physical activity in schools across Brighton, ensuring these vital aspects remain a high priority.
‘Let’s Dance at the Dome’ is a testament to the city’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting active lifestyles. As the city waits in anticipation, one thing is certain – Brighton’s youth are ready to dance their hearts out and create unforgettable memories at the Dome this March.
