Brighton’s vegetarian food scene has been given a significant boost, with Terre à Terre, a popular vegetarian restaurant located on East Street, being named the “Best Brighton Restaurant” in the Brighton Restaurants Awards Vote Online (BRAVO) 2024.
The owners of Terre à Terre were over the moon with the announcement, expressing their delight and gratitude on social media. They were “staggered and delighted” at the recognition and extended their heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for them, the team at Restaurants Brighton and Brighton Restaurant Awards, and their loyal customers.
Terre à Terre, which has been a cornerstone of Brighton’s vegetarian dining scene since 1993, prides itself on being a product of an incredible team, wonderful customers, and a thriving restaurant community. The owners were quick to point out that they would be nothing without these elements and expressed their pride in being part of Brighton and Hove’s bustling independent hospitality scene.
The award comes as a testament to Terre à Terre’s commitment to serving quality vegetarian food with flair, creativity, and playful exuberance. The restaurant’s menu, which includes cakes and pastries, dinner and lunch options, an afternoon tea menu, and a “little terrors” menu for children, is entirely meat-free.
In addition to its food offerings, Terre à Terre also sells a range of products in-house and online. These include chocolate truffles, pickles and jams, and gift hampers.
The restaurant’s spokesman said: “Terre à Terre stimulates the eye as much as the taste buds and we hear it changes many people’s ideas about meat-free cuisine, which keeps driving us forward. We love our drinks and have an award-winning international wine list which frequently showcases locally produced wines, spirits and drinks.”
This award is a testament to the hard work and passion of the team at Terre à Terre and a reflection of Brighton’s vibrant and diverse food scene. It’s a reminder to all of us to continue supporting our local independent hospitality venues.
