Brighton & Hove residents, mark your calendars! The Brighton Memory Walk, organised by Alzheimer’s Society, is scheduled for September 29 at Hove Lawns. This inspiring event aims to raise funds and awareness for dementia, a condition impacting countless lives across the UK.
Last year, the walk attracted thousands of participants and raised over ÂŁ116,000. This year, the organisers are aiming for even greater participation and fundraising success. The money collected will support those living with dementia and fund essential research to find a cure.
A representative from Alzheimer’s Society emphasised the significance of the event, saying, “Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer, with one in three people born in the UK today developing the condition. Together we are help and hope for around one million people living with dementia in the UK. Every step taken and pound raised will help to fund Alzheimer’s Society’s vital dementia support and research.”
The Brighton Memory Walk is a chance to walk in honour of loved ones, those we’ve lost, and everyone affected by dementia. By joining the walk, you contribute to the fight against this devastating condition. Whether you’re walking to remember someone special or to support the cause, your participation makes a meaningful impact.
